Before there was BSPN, there was simply a Facebook page called "We Want Winners." This Facebook page was created in the late 2000s because of an experiment with an early Facebook app that created a post based on a scheduled game. Soon, that app was gone, but the Facebook page stayed.
What came out of that page was a 49ers fan community. To celebrate the origins of that fan community, Rod and I have re-named our player of the week honoring the man who was responsible for naming the community, and this podcast, Mike Singletary.
Every week this season, Rod will choose his player of the game and that player will be honored through a graphic which will be shared on our Twitter page and Instagram page.
For week one, the first ever Coach Sing Player of the Week is Jordan Mason based on his huge game on Monday night against the Jets.
