As reported by The Athletic, Trent Williams is ending his holdout, with the understanding that he is returning to the Bay Area to finalize a new deal with the team. That comes on the heels of Brandon Aiyuk ending his hold-in and re-signing his new deal with the team, allowing for the 49ers to theoretically have their two biggest offseason question marks in uniform when the regular season starts on Monday night.
The question persists as to why it took the 49ers so long to get these deals done, though, with Williams, there was always more confidence that he'd be back.
In more good news for 49ers fans, Adam Schefter reported that star running back Christian McCaffrey who has been out of action with a calf injury, is expected back in practice today.
